Our Story
Lightfold was born from a fascination with the way light shapes perception. In cinema, light reveals character, mood, and meaning. In immersive media, it becomes space itself — something you move through, inhabit, and feel. We founded Lightfold at the intersection of film and emerging technology, driven by a desire to push storytelling beyond the flat frame. Our practice grew out of experimentation with spatial video, virtual environments, projection, and nonlinear narrative structures. Each project became an exploration of how stories can exist not only on screens, but around us — enveloping audiences in layered realities. The name Lightfold reflects our belief that storytelling is a process of bending and folding light, time, and perspective into new forms. We approach every project as both filmmakers and world-builders, crafting experiences that are cinematic at heart and immersive by design.

We aim to: Bridge traditional filmmaking with immersive technologies such as VR, spatial video, and interactive media. Design narratives that prioritize presence, emotional depth, and embodied experience. Explore themes of perception, memory, identity, and transformation through experimental yet accessible storytelling. Build meaningful connections between audiences and the worlds we create. We believe the future of storytelling lies not in replacing cinema, but in extending it — folding light into new dimensions of experience.
